MTA: Teachers support it!

MTA: Can’t find a single teacher who teaches a subject there’s an MCAS for to be in a Yes on 2 ad.

Interesting, huh? Well, they said "teachers", they didn't specify how many teachers. It could be two teachers.

They've been spamming my email making it look like everyone is on board. In reality no one, at least no one sane that I spoke to, supports it.

Let’s do some math since they probably barely passed their math MCAS.

Their own numbers suggest they represent 117,000 members. Let’s say 100,000 of those (~85%) are K-12 teachers. Now if 9-12 is 4/13 of the K-12 spectrum, and teachers are distributed evenly, that would suggest there are ~30,769 high school teachers. Let’s say that a typical high school has 8 different departments represented by MTA (math, English, science, history/social studies, wellness/PE, languages, guidance, electives). English and Math give MCAS, so if we take 2/8 of 30,769, we get 7,692.

So more than 7,000 high school Math and English teachers and they can’t find a single one to be in an ad.

Also, note in their newest ad for Q2 that MTA is so desperate to get people in actual schools to sign on, they refer to one of the people in the ad as an “educator”. Why didn’t they call them a teacher, because we know they’d be eager to slap that label on there if they dude taught 10th grade math.

It’s just so shameless. Clearly it’s a tone deaf attempt by the MTA to lower accountability for teachers and schools at a time where kids are STILL doing worse than pre-pandemic.

It is probably BECAUSE kids are still doing worse than pre-pandemic. It is natural that kids would do worse, I'm sure it is like that all over the country and maybe the whole world. But instead of trying to FIX the problem and help the kids achieve higher standards, they suddenly pretend like the standards themselves are the problem.

Let me reiterate what the head of the MTA himself said a couple of years ago, and I quote:

"The focus on income, on college and career readiness speaks to a system … tied to the capitalist class and its needs for profit. We, on the other hand, have as a core belief that the purpose of schools must be to nurture thinking, caring, active and committed adults, parents, community members, activists, citizens…

[P]ublic education must be reconceived [sic.] from scratch…"

A statement from a privileged “socialist” who comes from a rich white background because daddy made a shitload of money from the very system he now rails against.

Looks like we found the Fetterman of MA?

EXACTLY! That's our argument. These socialists are almost always privileged upper middle class people who never struggled and who never lived in a real communist country.

For the luvva mike, can we simplify all of this.... I left teaching in 1964 because teachers are the enemy of Family and education. Trust me, I ain't stupid. I figured this out then and have promoted Family and education ever since.

Our eneimies are teachers, departments of education, universities, multiculturalism committees, lawyers, politicians, wokeism, socialism, all politicians, and media. That just leaves we mums and dads and the real army or resistance, grandparents.

It's sad that the people who should be teaching are leaving and the ones remaining are the ones who destroy the system so thoroughly that nothing is left.

There are still some pockets of sanity inside schools and universities - this is why we're doing what we're doing.

You might enjoy this very funny article about a week in the life of a maths teacher in the UK

Maybe they are designing a system whereby people will *actually* be incapable of obtaining a government ID instead of this just being some fantasy in libtard land.

Holy shit. Still reading but not sure whether to laugh or cry.

It's also worth mentioning that one of your compatriots, a Jo Boaler, singlehandedly destroyed the entire math instruction system in California, despite valiant efforts to stop her. Needless to say, she a "math education" professor, read: not a mathematician.

If you haven't heard about her, see here:
