Special: "Decolonization" is not a Metaphor
UMass Boston decolonizers: they do mean it
This is the power cord of our “Decolonizing” progression: the rest of it can be heard here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, and here.
Surely Rome wasn't built in a day, neither was it destroyed in one day. You have to start small. You Decolonize Rigor yesterday, Decolonize Teaching today, and… then…oh… then what precisely? After all, decolonization is a process of removing or eliminating the colonizers, like in Israel this past weekend.
Indeed. Decolonization is not a metaphor. You can decolonize rigor, teaching, the spirit, etc. all you want, but this is just the theory. It must be followed by praxis.
Our courageous professors already acknowledge that decolonization can and must take the form of gunning down 260 kids at a rave music festival and kidnapping children and elderly people from their homes. This is what real bravery looks like! Will they join the Hamas decolonizers eventually, like physically?
Or maybe our “studies” professors should invite Hamas to our settler colony that they are busy deconstructing? To Burning Man maybe?
Spot on.
