From Lenin with Love
UMass Boston's trusty student newspaper, Hamass Media, wants to draw some blood: it could be theirs
[I]ntelligentsia is not the brain of the nation, but rather its excrement.
V.I. Lenin
Ahh, who would have imagined that the American Social Justice Warriors are as bloodthirsty as their Russian predecessors and spiritual fathers? “If your long-term fighting strategy consists of anything less than demanding the seizure of power by the powerless, then your efforts are in vain,” says out
#AsAJew du jour Max Herschman in his new panegyric on Lenin [published in our trusty student newspaper, Hamass Media, March 10, 2025]. To refresh your memory - this is part 2 of his two-part love letter to Lenin where he finally says the quiet part out loud: It is not justice these people are after. It’s power. And a Bolshevik revolution.
The 20,000,000 left dead in Lenin’s wake? Don’t bother us with minor details.
True, revolutionaries rarely care about the lives of their opponents. But Max, dude - as a student and, hence, intelligentsia (or whatever passes for it in modern day wokedemia) Lenin would consider you an enemy. You don’t believe us? Your hero speaks to you directly. Choose your replies wisely, or else.
The intellectual strength of the workers and peasants grow and strengthen in their fight against bourgeoisie and its helpers, pitiful intellectuals, lackeys of the capital, who think of themselves as the brain of the nation. In reality, Intelligentsia is not the brain of the nation, but rather its excrement.
— V.I. Lenin (September 15, 1919).
You (Max):
But Vladimir, I only took revolutionary classes! Fat Studies and such…
Lenin:
You are a liar, Max. You also took Latin, the language of the wicked West. Besides, anything that requires a non-negative IQ makes one unfit for a revolution. Turn around, hands where I can see them. Or as I once said:
We can not avoid arresting [intelligentsia]. It’s a crime not to arrest it. Tens and hundreds of them ought to spend days and weeks in prison.
- V.I. Lenin, in response to a letter from Maria Andreyeva, a famous actress, arguing against the mass arrests of the intelligentsia (September 18, 1919)
You (Мах):
It’s only Latin, come on…
Lenin:
Exactly. If you had taken Chemistry it would have been a firing squad. For example, I opined once that…
… the arrest of Professor Tikhvinsky [was] not in error: chemistry and counter-revolution are not mutually exclusive.
— V.I. Lenin (September 1921).
FYI Max, Tikhvinsky was executed within a month. So chill with your Latin.
You (Мах):
Look, we modernized your teachings. Revolutionized them if you will. Russian revolutionaries only oppressed the economically competent. We, the Social Justice Warriors, criminalized all tests of competence: SATs, GREs, SHSATs, Bar Exams, h-index, you name it, all were abolished as “barriers.” We will soon start strapping lead weights to successful ballerinas to “level the playing field.”
Lenin:
Hmm. Never thought of it. Do you have more ideas along these lines?
You (Мах): No. I never have any ideas of my own. I just regurgitate what my professors tell me. Why?
Lenin:
You are no longer useful to us.
… Execute with a firing squad, not awaiting for an OK from the superiors and without the idiotic bureaucratic red tape.
— Lenin to Comrade Paikes, August 22, 1918.
